Korea’s Leading Food Company to Enhance the American Palate with a ‘Korean Pantry’ of Products

WASHINGTON D.C. (July 11, 2011)—CJ, Korea’s number one food company and leading producer of Asian foods, today announced the launch of its “Korean Pantry” of products for the U.S. market, including its Bibigo line of signature Korean foods. As the most trusted name in Korean food for more than 50 years, CJ aims to broaden awareness and accessibility for Korean cuisine among Americans, with a variety of authentic, high-quality and GMO-free products with well-balanced ingredients to enable consumers to recreate traditional Korean dishes with ease. CJ will debut its Bibigo line at the Summer Fancy Food Show in Washington D.C. this week (booth 517).

“Korean food is quickly becoming the international cuisine of choice, and we look forward to playing a lead role in demystifying its unique characteristics, while introducing a variety of new, distinct flavors to the American palate,” said Elliot Chung, senior brand manager for CJ. “The idea behind CJ’s Korean Pantry of products is to provide all of the fundamental, staple ingredients that would be found in any traditional Korean kitchen, allowing at-home cooks in the U.S. to become more familiar with the cuisine and start adding an authentic touch to any dish.”

CJ’s Korean Pantry products will be available online and in stores September 2011. Each product in the Bibigo portfolio boasts the unrivaled, complex Korean flavors and textures that CJ is known for:

Gochujang is traditionally used as a topping, a dipping sauce for vegetables or sashimi, or as a cooking sauce for stir-fry dishes with chicken or vegetables. [more]
